Rexburg is home to many indoor and outdoor activities, but there’s nothing like being under the stars next to a roaring campfire. If you need camping gear, then stop by the BYU-Idaho Outdoor Resource Center (ORC) next to the stadium, where you can rent high-quality camping gear for a low price. Don’t let a lack of camping gear stop you from visiting these best places to camp. Get the camping gear ready and prepare yourself for an adventure you’ll never forget.
People travel from all over the United States to visit the famous Saint Anthony Sand Dunes. Sand Hills Resort provides you with everything you’ll need for a fun adventure. Their amenities include a wireless internet hotspot, a general store, washer and dryer facilities, a playground, two bathroom areas with six showers, and fire pits and picnic tables at select sites. Prices range from $19-$29 per night and fill up fast. So, be sure to reserve your spot ahead of time on their website. You can also find dune buggy rentals in the surrounding area that allow you to ride the dunes. Rentals can be pricey, but they are worth the experience if you have the money! You can also stop by the Outdoor resource center, located next to the BYU-Idaho stadium, and rent a sandboard for $10 that lets you ride the dunes as well.
The fee for a campsite is $10 per night, but it is well worth the price. The campground is conveniently located next to the Teton River and has campsites available right next to the water. The river can move kind of fast during certain times of the year, so be careful if you have kids. Amenities include drinkable water and bathrooms spread across the park. Within walking distance from the Eagle Park Campground, you will find Rexburg Nature Park, which features three ponds, a canal, three shelters, a skate park, Frisbee Golf, and walking/bike paths.
At Beaver Dick Park, you’ll find a lot of great amenities. Including a playground area for the kids, multiple bathrooms, and four large shelters with picnic tables. There’s also a boat ramp and dock with a deck that you can jump off into the river. Keep in mind that this is a dry campsite so, be sure to bring enough water to last you for the duration of your stay. The pricing is $10 per night or $40 for five nights, and is considered one of the best places to camp in Rexburg.
Warm Slough is a free first-come, first-serve campground, so be sure to show up early to claim your spot! This beautiful campsite is located right off the Henry’s Fork River in the Warm Slough area and is a popular destination for many locals. Bring a tube and take a gentle float down the river. The river’s u-shaped form makes it easy to float the river and take a short one-mile walk back to where you originally got in. Other fun activities include fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing. Warm Slough amenities include a bathroom and fire ring.
