Student Housing: Close to Campus

One of the main benefits of living in student housing is how close the apartments are to campus! Some apartments are within a 5-minute walking distance to all your classes. If you choose to live in student housing further from campus, you can always ride a bike or drive your car to class as well. Some apartment complexes even have shuttles that drop and pick students up from campus. No matter what you’re looking for when it comes to student housing, there are many different options close to campus for you to choose from.

Community Housing: What to Expect

The main thing to remember is that community housing and student housing are very different. Community housing is different in the fact that usually graduates, married couples, people in the community or families live there. Depending on where you decide to live, remember that community housing is usually further away from campus. Apartments may not come fully furnished and the payment plan is completely different from student housing. Many times you will need to look ahead for open apartments because community housing is contracted by signing leases.

As you do your research, you will find that each apartment complex provides different amenities and features. Here at The Village, we have great perks for our residents such as 9 different floor plans, a fitness center, game room, lounge, and an outdoor dog park. Community Housing: Payment

One of the main differences between student housing and community housing is the payment plan. When it comes to student housing, you sign up and pay for the semester and can choose whether to pay it all up front or monthly. Community housing is different in the fact that you pay rent monthly. You also will sign a set lease that is usually for 6 or 12 months, depending on the apartment complex. Each apartment complex is different and sometimes your utilities are not included in your monthly cost, but instead are an additional cost each month. No matter what you’re looking for, there are many different community housing options for you in Rexburg!

Community Housing: Not Fully Furnished

When looking for places to live, keep in mind that most community housing apartment complexes do not provide fully furnished apartments. Some apartments come with appliances and free wifi, while others will not. It all depends on where you decide to live in the community. Make sure to look ahead and ask apartment complexes what amenities they come with and what additional things you would need to bring with you. Here at The Village, our apartments come furnished with kitchen appliances such as a fridge, microwave, oven and dishwasher. We also provide our residents with a washer and dryer. The only thing you need to bring is your bed and furniture. Head to our website to find out more about all the amenities we have to offer!
