How To Host The Perfect Movie Night

With the weather getting warmer (finally!), the grass drying out, and the weekend approaching, we have all the right tips to help you have a little more fun! Whether it’s just you and your date, or a group of friends, we’re going to talk about all the essentials to hosting the perfect movie night.

Where To Watch

We’ve all heard it, “location, location, location”! Making sure where your movie night is held is probably the first thing you should consider when planning a movie night. Did you know The Village has a theater room? If you want to set up the ultimate movie theater experience without having to pay for the movie theatre, this is the place for you. With nine comfy couches and a huge movie screen for you to watch on, how could you not want to host your movie night here?

Another option, as the weather gets warmer, is taking your movie night outside with a white sheet and a projector. Find a friend with a projector or purchase your own! Add some twinkle lights, a few blankets, and probably some bug spray and you’ve got yourself a romantic evening- husbands, are you paying attention?

What To Watch

Now, for the meat of the movie night. The movie! I don’t know about you, but when I   and my husband sit down to watch a movie, we spend a lot of time scrolling Netflix or Hulu for the perfect film. When hosting a movie night, you’ll want to limit the choices, so you don’t spend the majority of your time debating if you want to watch a scary movie or a comedy. Have a few movies chosen pre-party and I promise you’ll spend your night watching a movie, not just talking about one.

How To Watch

Let’s be honest, the location, the movie, the people are great, but it’s time to talk about what’s really important. SNACKS. Are you a sweet or a savory type of snacker? Or maybe you’re both? For me, I like to stick to the basics. Just set me up with some popcorn, Twizzlers, and a large Rasmaspaz from Great Scott’s and I’m good to go. If you’re looking to spice up the classics though- let’s talk popcorn seasonings. Again, this will depend if you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory. From White Cheddar and Cheesy Jalapeno to Milk Chocolate Caramel and Kettle Corn—there are plenty of seasonings you can purchase at your local grocery store. Whatever movie snack you’re craving, make sure to have a good spread when hosting your movie night.

Follow these tips and tricks, and you’ll be sure to host the movie night of your dreams. Happy Movie Watching, and have a great weekend!
