New Year, New Goals. Welcome 2017

In just a matter of seconds, 2016 will be over. All of those bad days, good memories or life changing moments are now in the past. 2017 is a year of hope. Many people look forward to a new year to make changes, goals, and resolutions. Let’s celebrate 2017 by making it a great year! Here’s how to start.

New Year’s Eve History

Before digging into all the new year’s stuff, let’s take a second to reflect on the history of New Years Eve. All around the world, people have been celebrating the start of each new year for at least four millennia. People began celebrating New Year’s Eve in Times Square as early as 1904 but it wasn’t until 1907 that the New Year’s Eve Ball made it’s first appearance. Today, the ball is 12 feet in diameter and weighs about 11,875 pounds. Join the world as the watch the ball drop this New Year’s Eve!

Goodbye 2016

There’s something special about ending a year and starting fresh with a new one. The whole feeling brings about a sense of change and newness. It gives people hope to start fresh, to make resolutions and goals to become better. Many times people make these new goals and resolutions but find that they don’t happen. Instead of letting that happen this year, make the decision to achieve and reach your goals and new year’s resolutions!

Make New Goals

Grab a notebook and a pen and start writing down your goals for 2017. They don’t have to be goals that take all year to accomplish. Instead they could be simple goals such as buying that new cellphone, getting a haircut or even finally asking that girl out that you thought was cute all semester long. There is a sense of accomplishment that comes from checking off a finished goal that you have reached.

Break It Down

After writing your never ending list of goals for the upcoming year, you are probably feeling like you have a huge amount of things to get started on. Instead of letting yourself get burdened with all of the things you’d like to do for the year, why don’t you break your list down instead. Instead of setting just yearly goals, try something different this year. Check out these pintables that have you break down your goals in separate categories such as yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily. This helps break it all up and helps you feel more accomplished along the way.
