What makes a good road trip? Is it the people? The music? The snacks? Or the anticipation of where you’re going? Our honest opinion is… all of the above! You’ve got to have a tentative plan of what your road trip is going to look like at least a couple days before you head out.
One thing to consider is not only the destination but the pit stops. Sometimes on a road trip, there will be cool locations or hole-in-the-wall restaurants you may want to consider stopping at. This all depends on if you’re on a time crunch to get to where you’re going. But our advice is to do some research about your travels and plan for a couple of extra stops along the way. Sometimes the best memories are made in the little, more spontaneous pit-stops.
When planning a road trip make sure everyone in the car knows their responsibilities. We found this chart that clearly outlines the section of the car and what they’re in charge of. Feel free to send this to your fellow road-trippers to ensure a fun and happy trip:
To help you prep for your adventure we’ve put together 25 of our favorite summer road trip jams. Perfect for a short drive to R Mountain or a long cross-country trip.
