Thinking About Moving? Think Again, It Pays To Stay.

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Especially when it comes to moving costs.

To be clear up front, we’re not writing this to scare you into staying with us or deterring you from moving, we just want to help educate. In fact, this information can benefit anybody living anywhere. It is not specific to those who live here at The Village. Now, that being said, of course we’d love to have you stay with us. We’ll do everything in our power to ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of our tenants.

So, you’re considering moving. Perhaps you’ve seen an attractive offer from another apartment complex. Maybe you’re just looking for something new. Whatever the case, we think it’s wise to consider your motives for moving, specifically if they’re financially related.

Consider The Costs Associated With Moving

Have you thought about the expenses of moving when trying to save a buck or two on rent? Not every cost will apply to everyone, but a lot certainly will. If you own a truck and trailer you can get rid of the moving company and moving truck. Maybe you already own moving supplies. Regardless, moving costs money, and it’s up to you to do the math.

If you’re thinking about moving somewhere where your rent would be $50 less, consider how long it would take to see those savings hit your account. For example, maybe you’ll only be around for another year but the idea of saving $600 in rent for the year sounds nice. We get it. It sounds nice to us as well. However, when you factor in all the costs associated with moving you’ll probably never see those savings.

  • New Application Fee: $30+

It Pays To Stay

All we’re saying is that regardless of where you live, it might pay to stay where you’re at. Now, if you have other motives for moving then that’s a different story. However, if your reasons are financial, we would just encourage you to take a hard look at the numbers before you make a decision.

According to rentjungle.com, the average rent in Rexburg hovers right around the $800 mark. Three of our 10 floorplans all start well under $800. Not to mention our generous policy on pets as well as a boatload of fantastic amenities. When the dust settles it’s best to look at what you really want from moving.

As we said at the beginning, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
